We have been asked many times if we can organise a 50 mile event, so now is your chance to come along and give it a try. If you have always wanted to achieve the 50 mile goal, but have felt restricted by a 10 or 12 hour cut off time, then this is the event for you, as we have a very generous 14 hour cut off time for you to reach the 50 mile target. It really is an event suitable for both experienced ultra runners and those looking to achieve their first.

The challenge is on the trail routes around The Knavesmire (York Racecourse). It is a loop of just over 3 miles. So, you need to complete 16 loops plus the final .4 of a mile to the cone of doom and back. This is a route that we have tested on a couple of our Knavesmire Edge 6 hour challenges and it proved to be really popular.

We want to give our 50 mile runners some company on the day, so we will also incorporate two 7 hour challenge events, one starting at 8am and the other starting at 3pm. Like all of our challenge events, you can run as many loops as you wish in the 7 hour time limit and can take as many breaks as you like too. You must have started your final lap before the 7 hour time limit (even if your finish time will be after 7 hours).

The timing of the challenges will also allow anyone looking to run 2 marathons on the same day, the opportunity to do just that.

Finishers in the 50 mile event will receive a fabulous event T shirt that will proudly display the fact that they are a 50 mile finisher.

Finishers in either (or both) Challenge events and the 50 mile event will receive a superb bespoke medal.

Anyone who enters the 50 mile event and doesn't feel they can complete 50 miles on the day will be classed as a finisher in the Challenge event and will receive the appropriate medal on the day and the event T shirt.

For the Challenge events, event T-shirts can be pre-ordered as part of the entry or ordered for up to a week after the event. T shirts will be posted out 4-6 weeks after the event.

Like our other events, it is cupless. Please bring your own bottle or cup and we will happily fill and refill this for you with squash, water or coke on the day.

We will have a well stocked aid station at the end of each lap and toilets/showers are available in the changing rooms right night to the finish line.

Registration and bib collection will be on the day at the event.
